Terms & Conditions
As of 1 August 2018
By visiting and/or purchasing tickets, you accept the general terms and conditions of museum operations and the visitor regulations of the Illuseum Berlin.
Scope
The general terms and conditions for museum operations at Illuseum Berlin regulate the legal relationships between visitors on the one hand and Illuseum Berlin on the other. If an admission ticket is passed on, it is the responsibility of the previous purchaser to point out that the general terms and conditions of Illuseum Berlin apply to every subsequent visitor. The general terms and conditions are part of all contracts between visitors on the one hand and Illuseum Berlin on the other.
ticket prices
The prices of the Illuseum Berlin apply in accordance with the current price list. The prices shown on the price list include the respective statutory VAT. The Illuseum Berlin reserves the right to set prices that deviate from the price lists in individual cases; these are shown on the tickets.
Reduced-price tickets can only be purchased by individual interested parties if they belong to one of the groups of people eligible for the discount. The group of people eligible for the discount includes schoolchildren, students up to the age of 27, senior citizens over the age of 65, people with disabilities, military and community service personnel, trainees and groups of a certain number of people or more. There is no legal entitlement to discount tickets. Only one ticket is issued per interested party. The discount tickets are invalid without a photo ID justifying the discount. If a ticket is used improperly, the difference can be collected and the visitor can be expelled from the museum. In the latter case, the purchase price of the ticket will not be refunded in part either.
Buying tickets
Tickets for the Illuseum Berlin are available either online on the website or at the box office during opening hours.
The Illuseum Berlin reserves the right to refuse the purchase of tickets for a certain period of time or, in serious cases, permanently, to interested parties who disrupt the orderly ticket sales or other interested parties or visitors or who violate the respective house rules or instructions of the box office staff.
Payment for the cards is generally made in cash, with EC card or credit card.
Return or replacement of cards
It is not possible to return or exchange paid tickets. No replacement can be provided for tickets that have been lost for any reason or for tickets that have not been used or have only been used in part. This applies in particular to latecomers who arrive shortly before the museum closes or who cannot be granted entry due to a possible rush or overload of an exhibition or the entire museum, in particular a resulting short-term closure of certain museum areas.
Limited viewing options in the exhibition rooms due to temporary closure for events or for conservation reasons are in no way a reason for refunding admission tickets. Any closure due to weather conditions or events remains the sole responsibility of the Illuseum Berlin.
If tours or free events are rescheduled or cancelled, the purchaser is not entitled to return the tickets purchased. However, if tours are rescheduled for more than two hours, the purchaser is entitled to a refund of the tour fee. It is the responsibility of the visitor to call Illuseum Berlin on the day of the tour or event to find out about any changes.
Claims for damages
Claims for damages by the customer for whatever legal reason, in particular due to impossibility of performance, are excluded unless they are based on intent or gross negligence on the part of Illuseum Berlin. This restriction does not apply to compensation for damage to persons or to items handed over for processing, nor to damages under the Product Liability Act.
Other
The offering and selling of tickets for events at the Illuseum Berlin by private individuals is not permitted in the museum premises. By entering the premises of the Illuseum Berlin, the visitor submits himself/herself to the applicable house rules. The valid ticket must always be presented to museum staff upon request. If the Illuseum Berlin house rules are violated, the visitor may be expelled from the exhibition or tour. In these cases, the purchase price will not be refunded.
German law applies. For entrepreneurs and consumers who do not have their place of residence or habitual abode in Germany and are not employed in Germany, the court responsible for 10178 Berlin is agreed as the competent court for all legal disputes in connection with this contract, including insofar as it concerns its formation or termination.
Illuseum Berlin reserves the right to change and adapt the General Terms and Conditions as necessary, whereby the change will only apply to future contracts.
